True North K12 exists for any student K-12 needing instruction while on leave from school. Our mission is to provide a in-person learning program that is comprehensive yet uncomplicated. The goal is for our students to rejoin their home school district and/or find another suitable place or pathway for their education.

The student to teacher ratio is a maximum of 3:1. One to one mentoring is also available.

We offer a comprehensive NYS curriculum via Imagine Edgenuity and MiaPlaza asynchronous coursework along with the aid of highly qualified teachers and mentors. Students may also follow the home district coursework if appropriate. All students have the opportunity to
learn at their own pace.

True North exists for any student in grades Kindergarten through 12th needing respite and/or a temporary alternative to traditional Public or Private school. Typically, the students who attend our program are on home instruction due to a long term leave from school. This program is an alternative to the NYS mandated 10-15 hours of tutoring per week granted to students on home instruction due to a long-term leave/suspension from school and offers 20 hours of comprehensive instruction per week. Students attend school at our facility. Each student is paired with a mentor.
A student's K-12 home school district pays for the cost of tuition and registration. In the event a school district is not able to approve this cost, parents/guardians may pay out of pocket. To inquire about the cost of tuition please click on Contact Us. True North only accepts payment by personal or certified check and does not accept credit cards.
Simply fill out the contact form on this website (click on Contact Us) with your name, student's age, grade and location, and any pertinent information about your specific situation and a True North consultant will call you within 24 hours. After an initial phone call, you will understand if True North fits your needs. Then a consultation/enrollment visit can be scheduled.
The minimum length of stay is 5 weeks and the maximum stay could be a year or more. Students may enroll at any time.

True North is the direction that points directly towards the northern axis of the rotation of the earth. In order to point yourself to True North, it is first important to understand your current location and position.
